Math Fluency
We are making flashcards with our math facts to practice our facts so that we can learn them speedy quick!
LRC time
Mrs. Sayre read us a story about a Dragon Librarian and explained the rules and expectations when we are in the LRC. We were able to check out one book this week. We are hoping to show that we can handle checking out 2 books@
Math
Playing addition games is a fun way to learn how to add. Players added two dice and then colored in that many circles on their apples. Players counted to see which player filled in the most circles.
Morning tubs
After we organize for the day, each table rotates through different tubs that have fun activities to get the brain ready for academics.
Solar Eclipse
What an awesome event to see with our special glasses. The children who stayed inside were quite impressed with the view online projected on the smartboard in the LRC.
Reading
The children started the first step in our reading workshop by shopping for just right book.s
Read to self
We are practicing building stamina to read to ourselves. That means we read the whole time--right now it is five minutes. We are building to 20 minutes.
Buddies
We partner up with one of the 5th grade classes and we meet once a week to do activities with our new friends. We also see them at recess so we always know we have a friend at school!
Top Dog -Dane
Dane loves to eat crab legs, and his favorite animal is a dog. (good answer!!!!) He wants to be a race car driver when he grows up.
