Hot Weather Means Popsicles!

Because the elementary school has no air-conditioning, it has always become uncomfortably warm in the late summer months and even in the spring.

To limit the student's and staff exposure to heat inside the building, the school releases early on days when temperatures climb above 90 degrees.

In an effort to keep cool and get occasional mask breaks, students in the elementary have been enjoying popsicles. (staff, too!) Thanks to everyone who has donated them including School Board member Pat Schymanski and former teacher Barb Sandy!

We're looking forward to air-conditioning in the new building!

Elida Cancels 2020 Football Season Ticket Sales

Due to the Ohio Department of Health mandates, Elida Local Schools will not be able to sell football season tickets for the 2020-21 school year. All games and matches will have limited attendance due to the 15% seating capacity mandate from the Health Department. Please read the complete details regarding the fall sports season, and other fall sports, in this document. Masks are required for those in attendance as mandated by the Governor.

We appreciate everyone's compliance as we do this to help keep the kids on the field!

"ERate" Funds help Elida Save Big $ on Tech Upgrades

Recent technology upgrades in the district were necessary to replace 25 year old fiber lines and improve technology and wireless speed in the district.

Elida applied for assistance from the "ERate Fund" program which is administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company under the direction of the Federal Communications Commission.

By applying for "ERate" funding, the district was able to receive nearly 60% of the cost, a total of $277,641. Specifics:

Access Points: Total cost: $161,502- Erate covered $96,901

Switches: Total cost: $177,376- Erate covered $106,425

Loop-Total Cost: $123,858- Erate covered $74,315.

Equipment needed for the future elementary building is also included with these funds, so we have savings for the future, as well!
