CHARACTER EDUCATION AND RESTORATIVE DISCIPLINE
DME was built on a foundation of promoting positive character education.
We have implemented a strong program for 2 solid years.
We will continue to build this.
Discipline-Learning Opportunities
Restorative Practices include preventive measures designed to build skills and capacity in students as well as adults.
1. caring adults-building relationships
2. not ignoring behavior- individual conferences
3. school climate- informs how we work, teach, learn, & live
"quality and character of school life"
4. safe place to work, teach, & learn
5. helping students take ownership
6. bring out the best in all students
GRIT! LET'S CONTINUE THE MESSAGE!
IT'S KIND OF CHEESY!
GROWTH MINDSET!
- The beliefs children have about intelligence, effort, and struggle impact the choices they make about learning.
- People tend to hold one of two different beliefs about intelligence:
- Children with a growth mindset believe that intelligence can be developed. These students see school as a place to develop their abilities and think of challenges as opportunities to grow.
- Children with a fixed mindset believe that intelligence is fixed at birth and doesn’t change or changes very little with practice. These students see school as a place where their abilities are evaluated, they focus on looking smart over learning, and they interpret mistakes are a sign that they lack talent.
What makes you HAPPY?

Istation will have the intervention online pathways this year for K-5. Please remember that it is not the screener for Kindergarten this year, but they can use the online lessons for students.
