Honors in Washington - Summer Internships for 2017
The Honors Program supports students in summer internships in Washington D.C. Interns receive a substantial stipend and free housing, and work an average of forty hours a week for a minimum of nine weeks.
All majors are welcome! Last year, an early childhood education student interned for DC Public Schools.
Second- and third-year (based on date of enrollment, not credit hours) Honors students in good standing are eligible to apply.

Thomas Lay After-School Program Needs Volunteers!
The Thomas Lay After-School Program, a student-run organization sponsored by the Honors Program, needs volunteers!
The program pairs UGA students with local elementary and middle school students for one-on-one tutoring in a fun and supportive environment. The elementary school program is Monday-Friday 3:30-5:30 and the middle school program is Monday-Thursday 4:30-5:30. Mentors are free to volunteer any day of the week.

Lunchbox Garden
We have garden beds and provide hands-on lessons about nutrition and the environment. Opportunities for our executive board available for active volunteers at the end of each school year as well as development towards school wide events.

COE Scholarships Available!
The College of Education offers several scholarships to help ease the financial burden for COE students. Last academic year, 45 students were awarded scholarship funds totaling over $147,000. Refer to the Fall 2016 Scholarship Guide before submitting materials. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 5:00pm. Recommendation letters can be submitted here. edTPA Tip of the Week
Pearson Customer Support (which provides infrastructure for the edTPA submission process) offers Live Chat, 12 pm – 6 pm EST, on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Ask questions about supported file types and sizes, score report dates, or anything about the submission process, and you will get instant answers!
Occasionally, there are technical problems during the submission process, so you might want to plan to submit your portfolio during the Live Chat hours.
