Southern Teachers Interview Day
Time: Varies
Location: UGA Career Center
As you consider your options for life after graduation, keep Southern Teachers in mind. If you enjoy learning and engaging in the classroom, perhaps you have the gift for teaching. Independent schools hire new graduates with wide-ranging academic majors. While elementary school teachers must have specific training and certification in childhood education, middle and high school teachers are hired for their subject-area knowledge. Professional development in pedagogy is ongoing.
Southern Teachers (ST) helps outstanding independent schools hire articulate, compassionate teachers and coaches who will motivate and inspire teenagers in and out of the classroom, who want to be vital members of inclusive, supportive school communities. ST candidates have earned degrees in math, literature, science, history, engineering, world languages, technology, and others fields. ST helps them get hired at all sorts of schools – day, boarding, single sex, coed, rural, urban, nonsectarian, and faith-based – with diverse students and school cultures.
