Martha Wins Her Jacket

This past week a little girl from a small Texas school was awarded a scholarship jacket for being the validictorian of her 8th grade class. The girls name is Martha. The jacket is embroidered with her name and the school symbol. The jacket comes in green and gold which are the school colors. This is not Martha's first accademic accomplishment. She was awarded the validictorian of her 4th and 5th grade class as well. I got the chance to speak with Martha and she shared her secrets to good grades " study, pay attention, and work hard!"

Dear Abby

Dear Abby,

Hi, I'm in 7th grade and I have my first crush. The problem is I don't know how to get her attention and I get nervous every time I'm around her. Can you give me some advice?

Sincerely,

Victor

Dear Victor,

What your going through is normal and I completely understand. My advice to you is to be cool and don't try to hard to impress her. Have a more outgoing friend of yours go with you to talk to her and maybe break the ice a little bit. Another suggestion is just start out texting her. Texting is always easier than face-to-face talking, as long as your not super annoying.

Hope this helped,

~ Abby
