Excellence in Education Honorees
Being among the top 5 percent of academic achievers in Loudoun County Public Schools’ senior class is an accomplishment worth celebrating. In lieu of the Loudoun Education Foundation’s annual Excellence in Education Banquet, LCPS is celebrating the members of the Class of 2021 who achieved this distinction.
The Stone Bridge seniors were to have been honored at the 38th Annual Excellence in Education Banquet on December 6. LCPS and the Loudoun Education Foundation want to make sure the community recognizes these students’ academic accomplishments.
Congratulations Bulldogs! Please review our slideshow to honor our graduates!

Fall Sports Updates from Our Coaches
Football
The Bulldog Varsity Football team was dominant on both sides of the ball last Friday beating Freedom 68-14. The defense was led by Jeremiah Covington-Griggs with 7 tackles and an interception and Gabe Perez with 6 tackles. Jacob Thomas and Zach Laing also had interceptions. Jacob scored 2 touchdowns on the day, a 20 yard interception and a 72 yard punt return. The offense was by Eli Mason who ran for 114 yards and 4 touchdowns. Also scoring for the Bulldogs were Colton Hinton (rushing 1), Mario Suarez (rushing 1), DJ Cobbs (receiving 2), Billy Wiles (passing 1) and Dylan Dastejerdi (29 yard field goal). The JV team ended their season undefeated, while the freshman team has one remaining game against Potomac Falls on April 6th.
Cross Country
Kaia Wolfe won her 2nd cross country race this season and bettered her time on the Oatlands course this past Tuesday. Ricci Talbot took his first win of the season and led the boys to a win over Potomac Falls at Oatlands on Tuesday. George Alexander continued his dominance again by winning convincingly at Oatlands on Thursday over Riverside, Woodgrove, and Freedom.
Volleyball
The varsity volleyball team went 1-2 this week. They lost to Freedom on Monday night 1-3, defeated Potomac Falls 3-1 on Tuesday, and lost to Riverside on Thursday 1-3. Mahalia Amazigo was honored on Tuesday for senior night and was instrumental in the team win! The freshmen and JV teams were both 1-2 this week.
Golf
The Stone Bridge Bulldog Golfers lost a very close match to the Riverside Rams last week. The score was Stone Bridge 162 to Riverside 160. Junior Gautham Bai Reddy tied for the low medal score of even par 36. This was Gautham's lowest match score of his high school golfing career! Also scoring for the Bulldogs were freshman Alisha Gupta, who shot 40, also a high school record career low score; freshmen Will Layton and Jennifer Osborne, who both shot 43, junior Michael Miranda, who shot 44; and senior Kieran Modhera, who shot 52. All of the Bulldogs starting freshman had never played the Norman course prior to today, so their combined performance was admirable. Our next match will be at Briar Woods' Brambleton Golf Course on Monday March 29, 2021, at 3:30 pm.
Field Hockey
Stone Bridge Field Hockey had a spectacular, come-from-behind win over a fierce Woodgrove team this week. The Bulldogs went down 1-0 in the first half, but a goal by Avery Moon evened out the score. Another goal by Woodgrove put Stone Bridge down by one to start the 4th quarter. In an amazing feat of sheer determination, Avery Moon scored two more goals within 30 seconds of each other to complete her first hat trick of the season and seal the 3-2 victory for the Bulldogs.
