Cooking Up Comfort
Helping Africa Help Itself
How penny's can help women cook up comfort?
Penny's coming from around the world are being sent to Africa to help women affected by poverty. Some of these women can not bring their families the meal for that day. 21 of the world's 30 poorest countries are found in Africa, and about half of Africans in these countries survive on less then a dollar a day. But with your penny's we can help more women provide comfort for their families.
Some of Our Successful Women
Hassana is only one of many.
Meet Hassana, she is a widow with five children, before starting her own business she was not able to keep up with feeding the family, or medicines for when someone got sick. After getting a loan, buying an oven, she began selling bread in the market. Shortly she paid back the loan, and a steady income for her family to live on.
Sanankoroni Women’s Association
These women raised 2,000 dollars, half the cost of the machine they were planning to buy, United Nations Development Programme provided the rest of the money. The machine was to grind peanuts, what it took the women three days to do the machine did in a couple hours. With this machine the women spend their extra time they grinded peanuts, then sold the peanut butter in their local market.
Thank you for helping the others around you.
