St. Columba's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 3 | 17 FEBRUARY 2022
Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen
From the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
A big thank you to staff who have managed a smooth start to the year, despite the Covid disruptions.
The children have settled in well and it is great to see the Kindy and Pre-Primary students becoming so independent during the Kiss and Drive times.
The school had its CEWA organised Ventilation Audit last Friday and I am awaiting the report to be sent through. My understanding is that the majority of our rooms have acceptable ventilation. Those small number of rooms that require further work will be a priority for CEWA and the school. The Fr Brennan building has also been given the all-clear for acceptable ventilation. The Audit company advised that there was no need to install ceiling fans in classrooms, as they would not improve ventilation. Further information will be forthcoming in the near future.
Families please note that you will need to adhere to the school parking policy and the street verge signage. Parking is not permitted in ‘no standing or parking' zones and cars that do not follow the street and verge signage face a possible fine from the Ranger. Also, parking in the church car park is not allowed as this is for staff and Kiss and Drive.
A reminder that families should only be turning from the left lane into the Church Car Park during Kiss and Drive time. Turning right across traffic into the Church Car Park is not the approved protocols for Kiss and Drive. If you have grandparents picking up, please advise them of the Kiss and Drive protocols. Your help in this matter will be very much appreciated.
Please note I will be away on Friday February 25.
A reminder, students will finish this term on Friday April 8.
Have a great weekend.
God Bless
Allen McMahon
