BES Weekly Update
Issue No. 12
A Note From Principal Paquette
Dear BES families,
The end of the year is upon us! Our last day of instruction is next Tuesday, June 16th. As a reminder, we will have a half day on Monday, June 15th. On Monday we will also be having our Virtual Move-Up day. Be sure to check last week’s update for information pertaining to this and ask your child’s classroom teacher if you have any questions about how to participate in this exciting Google Meet.
As a reminder, those families who have Kajeets signed out, the days to return them to school are Wednesday, June 17th and Thursday, June 18th from 8am-4pm. Please be sure to return the Kajeet device, the case and charger. A bill of $100 will be sent to families for any Kajeets not returned on those days. If you need other arrangements, please reach out to me.
Thank you to all the families who came last week on Thursday and Friday to collect your child’s belongings! We had beautiful days to be outside and it was great to see everyone. We only had about 30 students’ belongings who were not picked up and arrangements are being made for them to be delivered next Tuesday, June 16th from 9-11.
I am seeking your feedback in order to help us grow as a school. You all experienced Digital Teaching & Learning as a family for the last 12 weeks. Due to the circumstances around COVID19, we may be in this educational situation again. I am asking that families complete the Digital Teaching & Learning Survey in order to let us know how things went and where we can look to improve next time. This survey can be found by clicking here. It will also be on all of our social media sites, the district webpage under the BES page and in your child’s Google Classroom. Your input is valued and I appreciate you taking the time to share what you’ve experienced with us.
I know everyone is looking for answers as to what the fall will look like at BES. At this time we don’t have any to share. The situation we are in is ever changing. But I assure you that as soon as a plan is set you will be notified. Thank you for your patience as we plan a safe and engaging learning environment for your child.
So in closing, I would like to thank each and every family, student, teacher and staff member for the tremendous effort that has been displayed over the last 12 weeks of the 2019-20 school year. You have all gone above and beyond to work as a team to help all our BES students learn and succeed. It has been a long year and I feel a successful one and for that I thank you! I hope everyone has a safe, relaxing and enjoyable summer break and I look forward to September with high hopes of being with everyone on campus!
Yours in education,
Sarah Paquette
BES Principal

Ms. Lamontagne Shares Counseling Tips for Families
Once a week all 4th graders are invited to join Ms. Lamontagne for a fun lunch bunch meeting. We eat, play games and tell jokes. It’s fun just to see each other!
From the Special Education Counseling Corner with Mrs. Kim and Miss Sarah
As the school year winds down and summer begins, it’s a good time to reflect back on the year. Talking to your children about how their year went. What was their favorite part about the school year? What was their least favorite part of the school year? How did they like digital learning versus in-person learning? Frequently checking-in with your child(ren) can help promote overall mental wellness.
The following Parents’ Chart is a great way to stay connected and further promote good overall social-emotional health. To print the Parent Chart below, go to this link:

Another way to stay positive, especially in these trying times, is to help spread kindness. Encourage your child to engage in random acts of kindness. It not only makes that person feel loved and appreciated, but your child will feel great, too! The following sheets are excellent templates to use for just that! We hope you all enjoy your summer break and can’t wait to see everyone next year!
