Spirit Day - Superhero Day
Gatewood Gators have earned 2,727 KIND Cards! They've reached the 2,500 milestone and earned Superhero Day. We'll celebrate Superhero Day on Thursday, December 13, 2018. Here's your chance to be the Superhero you've always wanted. Who will you be?
Reimagining the Computer Lab
You are invited to the media center and computer lab this Friday morning to enjoy some treats, check out some activities, and hear about some of our colleagues' vision and ideas for reimagining the computer lab as an Imagination Lab.
My Schedule
Wednesday afternoon I will be out for the monthly Learning and Leadership meeting convened by the Superintendent. Looking ahead, I will be out on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at the monthly Courageous Leadership training.
Week Before Winter Break
To brighten the week before winter break and hopefully send you off on your break in a good mood, next week there will be some treats and activities to enjoy. You can kick off this week before break by joining your colleagues this Friday, December 14, 2018, at Mr. Ike's home for the staff holiday party. Next week please enjoy:
A Monday Morning Coffee Break,
A Tuesday Scavenger Hunt,
A Wednesday Potluck Luncheon,
Kindness Thursday and
Cosmic Bowling Friday!
Details to come!
December Story Reading
I'm having a lot of fun reading my December story, "Alan's Big, Scary Teeth." This book was recommended by a fellow principal and the main character is a gator! There are still some slots available on Tuesday, December 11 and Friday, December 21. If none of those times work, send me some other dates and possible times and we'll make it work...thanks!
Please Don't Leave Students Unsupervised In Classrooms
Please don't leave students unsupervised in the classroom. Recent events where students were left alone resulted in some inappropriate and dangerous situations. I know it's challenging that some students take longer to put on winter wear or tennis shoes, but please find other ways to manage this besides leaving students unattended in classrooms. Thank you for your attention to this.
