PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Lincoln Parents and Guardians,
I would like to acknowledge a few of the many parent groups who work tirelessly for students and families in the district. Volunteerism can be an integral part of creating a positive education experience for students and parents alike. The efforts of those families who are able to volunteer to serve our students are greatly appreciated and deserving of acknowledgement on occasion.
PEPS (Partnering with Educators and Parents to Support student needs) is a group designed for parents of children with special needs throughout District 57 schools to network with one another. We are fortunate to have this group of parents who support one another throughout their children’s education. Click here for PEPS current newsletter.
PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) is another group of outstanding and committed parents who work creatively and collaboratively to enhance the middle school experience for Lincoln students. Our PTO has sponsored several Dine and Share events, our first-ever Color Run, Staff Appreciation events and is currently coordinating a Ski Trip and a Snowman Competition; and, there is so much more on their agenda! The next Lincoln PTO meeting is Tuesday, February 8, 2022. All parents are welcome and I hope you can join us!
District 57 Education Foundation is a group of men and women who work tirelessly to raise funds to support grant requests throughout the district. Technology, curriculum, performing arts, and athletics have all received the benefits of this team of committed volunteers. The Foundation’s most recent fund raising event is the AFC and NFC Championship Football Square Fundraiser! Take a chance on a square and support their efforts!
Volunteers are priceless . . . literally. No matter how much or often a person volunteers to benefit their community, it is appreciated and valuable. Thank you for your commitment to our schools.
As always, thank you for your continued support and confidence as we move forward into the second half of our school year,
Paul Suminski
SPECTATOR GUIDELINES FOR LINCOLN ATHLETIC EVENTS
The following guidelines are in place so that families can attend athletics events at Lincoln:
- All spectators are to be masked for the duration of their time in the building.
- Only family members of players/performers will be admitted as spectators.
- There is no "student section."
- Siblings of athletes must sit with their parents.
- Due to limited capacity in our stands, we want to prioritize our limited space for families of athletes.
- This policy is consistent with all schools in the MSMSAC athletic conference.
Adherence to these guidelines is mandatory so that Lincoln can participate in and host athletic events as a member of the Mid-Suburban Middle School Athletic Conference during the Covid-19 pandemic. Thank you for your cooperation.
. . . THE FRONT OFFICE!
Question:
What is the best way to pick up my child during the school day?
Answer:
The front office prefers either a signed note or an email to Mrs. Moran - rmoran@d57.org AND Mrs. Wiley - ewiley@d57.org from a parent with the child's name, grade level, reason for early dismissal and pick-up time. Also, please include the name of the adult picking up your child if it is not a parent.
It may be necessary to issue your child a pass if the pick-up time is during a class period. Otherwise your child should come to the office during the passing period. Written notice eliminates the need for a parent to come in and sign the child out. When your car pulls up outside Door #1, your student may exit from the front office.
If you do not know in advance and must remove your child from class, please come in to the front office and we will call your student out of class. However, this can be disruptive to class and may involve a longer wait time.
