TIPS Journal January 24, 2021

keeping our families in the school loop

Greetings from Tokyo International Progressive School

Dear Parent Community of TIPS,

Hello from the principal's desk.

Firstly, our Variety Show date has been changed to Friday, June 4. We hope it will be safer to gather at that time.

In the new semester beginning January 27, our club days increase from 2 days per week to 4 days per week (on Wednesdays there are no clubs). Because our ski trip was cancelled and our Variety Show is postponed, we will need the element of fun that clubs provide at school. When you see Mr. Luigi Mondino, please thank him for organizing the clubs! By now you have heard from Mr. Mondino outlining our club activity. Please contact him at

lmondino@tokyoips.com

with any questions you may have.

Our crowdfunding campaign has reached its goal of 5 million yen. We thank those who have donated to our new campus! The funding will go to improve our science and music programs. I could not be more excited about the growth and improvements in the school we will see.

You may further contribute here in Japanese or here in English if you still wish to do so.

Finally, our counselor, Ms. Emiko Kakimoto, would like to meet as a group with any parents who experience anger from their child. She is in contact with TIPS parents who see the benefit from talking over their experiences with other families that may have a similar situation. If your son or daughter is easily provoked and expresses excessive anger towards you, Ms. Kakimoto sees the benefit of talking it over. The session would be online, informal and probably over coffee. Ms. Kakimoto can be reached at

emakpsych@gmail.com

Good luck.

Any questions, please ask!

Sincerely,

Lyn Sato

Principal
