Eyestone Elementary Safety DRILL
The safety of your children and our staff is a top priority here at Eyestone, and we will continue to work as a school community to engage with students and staff in ongoing safety practices. On Monday, January 30th at around 8:40 a.am., we held our lockdown drill. At the time of the drill, students and staff will be notified that it is only a drill and there is no actual emergency. During the lockdown drill, students and staff are directed to a safe location inside the building. Exterior and interior doors, windows, and access points are closed and locked. At the conclusion of the drill, students will have the opportunity to ask questions should they have any.
We initiate and implement various types of safety drills throughout the year in order to be as prepared as possible should the unfortunate event of an emergency situation occur. When we practice safety drills, it allows us to think about what to do, ask questions, and become better prepared. Familiarity with our safety procedures helps ensure the safety of your children. Far too often, current events across the country remind us of the importance of discussing how to stay safe.
Again, it is important for us to review and discuss safety protocols as a community. If you would like more information about the district's emergency procedures, you may review them on the PSD Website under "Emergency Response and Preparedness."
If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to Kristin Broadbelt, Principal, at kbroadbelt@psdschools.org or at 970-488-8603.
Kindly,

Community Engagement Sessions
Hello Poudre School District Families and Stakeholders,
The Poudre School District Board of Education and Superintendent Brian Kingsley hosted six community engagement events during the 2021-22 school year. These events included time to hear from all who were in attendance about the issues that are important in our community. These events provided time to learn from our stakeholders, but lacked the time for more dialogue, which was clearly desired at each session from those in attendance. Moving forward, PSD would like to provide engagement opportunities on targeted topics where both learning and dialogue take place.
The Board of Education and Superintendent will host a series of three community engagement events during the spring semester. Each session will be dedicated to a specific topic. The sessions will be as follows:
Mental Health and Belonging - March 2, 2023 - 5:30pm to 7:30pm - Harris ES
Many stories on student mental health journeys were shared in our listening sessions in the spring and summer. This session is designed to share our current mental health and counseling support in the PSD system, as well as detail climate- and culture-building efforts that support belonging. It is also an opportunity to provide feedback on the types of student support that our community would like to see provided. Click here to sign up for this session (space limited to 30 seats)
School Safety - April 13, 2023 - 5:30pm to 7:30pm - Fort Collins HS
Everyone wants our kids to be safe and successful in school and this session will focus on current safety practices and drills designed to improve safety. It is also an opportunity to provide feedback on safety measures in place in schools. Click here to sign up for this session (space limited to 30 seats)
Each session will include a short presentation followed by dedicated discussion that is facilitated by a PSD staff member. We will also be reviewing and discussing the PSD Principles of Community as a backdrop for each session. We look forward to seeing you at these special events. Questions regarding these events can be directed to Brett Larsen, Director of Special Projects and Initiatives, at blarsen@psdschools.org.
Transfort Survey
Transfort, the transit agency owned by the City of Fort Collins, seeks community input on permanently changing to a fare-free transit system.
In March 2020, Transfort eliminated fare collection as part of the agency’s response to COVID-19. Although COVID restrictions have been lifted and Transfort has resumed regular operations, Transfort has not resumed fare collection, opting instead to explore whether fare free operations are possible on a permanent basis.
Community members can provide feedback by taking Transfort’s survey at www.fcgov.com/transfortsurvey. The survey contains a section of fare-related questions as well as other transit-related questions, including what factors community members consider when making decisions to ride (or not ride) Transfort.
The survey will be open until Feb. 15, 2023.
Thank you
_________
Gracias
