Greetings SCG Community,
Welcome to the season of autumn. I hope you are all feeling well this week. Thank you bringing your kids to school rested and cared for.
This is such an important and special time of childhood and growing, and we are all doing our best together.
I'm thankful for our spectacular teachers and school staff that all care so much about all of the kids. Together our staff and students bring a lot of joy, magic, and life to campus each day. The work of a teacher and school support staff is to advocate for all students, provide supports and tool boxes for inside and outside the classroom, and create safe, welcoming, and inspiring spaces for kids to grow. Our SCG staff does this with sincere integrity, passion, sharing, and kindness.
One area we would like to focus this year in providing for all is bringing more awareness to the importance of attendance in this magical decade of 0-10 years old that brings the most brain growth in our entire lives.
Please take a look by clicking on the flier to the right to see more about this.
Update on the Makers Space- Home and School Club and some of the SCG Staff- HSC and I are in the midst of a grant application and hoping to begin the building early November. Thank you for all the volunteer interest. We have your contact info and will be in touch.
Along with Makerspace creation, garden work days, volunteering and partnering with us around our Science, Gardening, and STEAM (Science, Tech, Art, and Engineering work), we will be seeking your input ahead. This will come in areas of your interests and passions, and areas of SCG the SAGE program of hands on work, collaboration, creative problem-solving, and real world connections.
We have our Home and School Club, our School Site Council, and our English Language Advisory Council meetings beginning this week. If you are interested in giving input to our school plans in academics and school culture, please consider finding out more about these committees by emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org.

The Drive for Schools 2023 Fundraiser has started! This is an annual fundraiser sponsored by the Beach Boardwalk in which students sell raffle tickets for some great prizes, including a grand prize of $25,000 cash. Students will take home paper tickets this week. Sell tickets to family, friends, and co-workers for $5 each or $25 for 6 tickets. Return all sold tickets by Oct. 20th to your student's teacher or the school office. Please return unsold tickets to school too so that we can sell them to others. Home & School Club receives 100% of ticket sales, so this fundraiser makes a substantial impact on our school programs. You can also purchase tickets online here - https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=Y3Y5AFD6C3E74 - and complete ticket stubs yourself, or Home & School Club can fill out ticket stubs based on the information provided with your online payment. Please share this online payment link with friends and family!
Fall After School Enrichment Classes sponsored by Home & School Club will start on Friday, Oct. 6th and continue for five Friday's through Nov. 3rd. The After School Enrichment Class Registration Form is here and will be sent home with your student this week. Please return the Registration Form to your teacher or the school office by this Friday, Sept. 29th. These classes are FREE, and we have a great variety of classes for students this Fall.
