Need to Know Info...
COVID Update: Attendance has been great our first week back together! Aside from a handful of students who were exposed to COVID over the holidays, most of us were back together on Monday. As we continue to work through these COVID times, please keep the following attendance guidelines in mind:
- Do not send your child to school if he/she has been exposed to a positive COVID case or showing any symptoms related to COVID. Please contract the school to determine an appropriate return date and to find out what documentation is needed for your child to return to school.
- Parents should keep all students in the same household home from school when any member of the household presents with COVID symptoms. If your child becomes ill at school, you should expect all members of the same household to be sent home until a diagnosis is made by a healthcare professional.
Celebrating Kids: Despite all we've been through and observed in 2020, we continue to find ways to celebrate at school! We love our kids and our TES family. Last week, we were all able to relax with some reading and celebrate students who have met their mid-year AR goal. Students were also presented with their new school shirts. We gift the students with a school shirt each year and pull together for a school family photo. While we cannot do the photo this year, be on the lookout for class photos as each class can get one with all students present. Although it has been a trying few months, continue to find the good and focus on that with your children. They are amazingly resilient, and I assure you school still feels like school. Kids are working hard and being friends. There is much to celebrate!
eLearning: Our next scheduled eLearning Day will be on Wednesday, January 27. Students will not attend in-person. They will bring home their laptops on Tuesday so they can connect for eLearning. Assignments will be posted by 5PM on Tuesday. Teachers will participate in professional development on Wednesday morning, but they will be available for office hours from 1:30-3:00 to answer any questions students may have. For support before then, please contact our school office or our tech department.
Inclement Weather: As the winter months press on, it is important for students to dress for the weather. We go outside for recess as much as possible, so please be sure students have winter coats, hats, and gloves daily. Please be sure we have clear instruction in Harmony for how to handle dismissal for your child, should we have to dismiss school early due to do oncoming weather. Also note, in the event of a school cancelation, students will participate in an eLearning day, with assignments posted in Canvas by 9:00 AM.
Arrival/Dismissal in Front of the Building: We really appreciate your cooperation with the enforcement of our arrival and dismissal procedures. It feels good to know we all work together for the safety of our kids! As we get back into our routines and welcome new families, you can access the Arrival/Dismissal Plan here.
