Introduction
YOU! Yeah you! The one who is reading this keep on reading! This flyer has very interesting information of TWO! And I mean 2 very interesting poems one about life and death, and the other about hurricanes.
Tone & Word Choice
In Sleeping in the Forest the author felt afraid and like everything was complacent. Meaning the poem is about a person who as I believe is about life and death, but the person is annoyed with dying a lot. And in Problems with Hurricanes the author felt scared and afraid of the hurricanes. Saying that the hurricanes are non stop.
Figurative Language
In Sleeping in the Forest in lines 1-5 it says "I thought the earth remembered me, she took me back so tenderly, arranging her dark skirts, her pockets full of lichens and seeds," which is personification. Also, in Problems with Hurricanes there is no specific lines that show figurative language the whole entire poem is a metaphor!
Form & Structure
The form in Sleeping in the Forest is all strange and weird indentations. And in Problems with Hurricanes there were random spaces in the middle of the sentences.
Conclusion
Now I get it! Do you? These two poems are very similar! But not the same... Not saying I didn't like Problems with Hurricanes but Sleeping in the Forest is my personal favorite.
