Joanne or Jo Rowling was born July 31st, 1965 near Bristol England however She moved around a lot as child. She wrote her first story at age six when she lived in Chepstow, Gwent, Wales were she grew up. In 1990 she was on a train when inspiration struck and she started writing Harry Potter. Unfortunately while she was writing Harry Potter she was a single mother with no job and in fact did most of her writing in small cafes and pubs. when she published her writing and became a billionaire she donated lots of money to charity. She also became an officer of the English empire in 2001 and is a teacher who taught English in Portugal. Her famous series Harry Potter has been translated into over 60 languages and is available in over 200 countries though she has also written other things. Surprisingly she uses many different pen names when she writes including: Newt Scamander, Kennilworthy Whisp, and Robert Galbraith.
