Great to be Back in the Building

As I type this we are nearly through our second day in Hybrid learning. Seeing students and having them back in the building has been great! We have loved our interactions and how respectful students are of the staff and one another. Safety protocols that are in affect have been followed. Thank you everyone!

Our staff put together a solid plan to keep students and staff safe with the return to school. Thank you Mr. Stern and Mr. Cady for your preparation to keep all of us safe! If we were practicing for a game and today was game day, I would say that we executed the plan perfectly.

School rhythm in person is much different than online. Many students and staff shared how tired they were after our first day on Monday. We haven't been in school since March in person. It will take us some time to build that stamina again. We also are operating on a very different schedule with 8 periods in a day. Give yourself grace and make sure you are getting your rest everyone.

Thank you for a great start back! We are so glad you are here with us.

Ms. Duby

PSAT and SAT Day is October 14th

October 14th, 2020 is the testing day for PSAT and SAT. Students in 10th grade and 12th grade will be attending school in person on this day to take these state assessments. This is a Wednesday. Students will take the test at Columbia High School and busing will be provided.

Seniors will take the SAT. This was postponed from last spring due to COVID-19. The SAT is a required test for graduation.

Sophomore students will take the PSAT. This test is designed to prepare students for the SAT that they will take as juniors.

Juniors who would like to retake the PSAT may do so. There is a $20 fee to retake the exam. If you would like to do this, email Mr. Jason Hoyt,, by October 2nd, 2020.

Schedules, Building Map

This information was shared in the first newsletter, but we wanted to make sure it continues to be available to you in this first week of in person learning. If you would like a paper copy of these items --the building maps, daily bell schedule, transfer bus schedule, we have them available at the Office.

Freshmen students, this is ALL new for you. We realize this and will continue to help you find your classrooms and answer questions for you.

Student ID to be Worn Starting Monday

Students will receive their student ID card on picture day. As a safety measure, all students and staff are expected to wear their ID daily starting Monday. Putting your ID on a lanyard around your neck makes it easily accessible and visible. Thanks for following this safety protocol.

Homecoming week--October 12th-16th

Homecoming and the activities to celebrate it will take place the week of October 12th -16th. The Homecoming opponent will be the Emmett Huskies. Leadership is putting together activities to be involved in and keep students safe.

We are thankful that we can celebrate this annual tradition this year! Thank you Leadership students, Mr. Dion, and Mr. Stoppenhagen for your work to make it possible.
