Great to be Back in the Building
Our staff put together a solid plan to keep students and staff safe with the return to school. Thank you Mr. Stern and Mr. Cady for your preparation to keep all of us safe! If we were practicing for a game and today was game day, I would say that we executed the plan perfectly.
School rhythm in person is much different than online. Many students and staff shared how tired they were after our first day on Monday. We haven't been in school since March in person. It will take us some time to build that stamina again. We also are operating on a very different schedule with 8 periods in a day. Give yourself grace and make sure you are getting your rest everyone.
Thank you for a great start back! We are so glad you are here with us.
Ms. Duby
Student Led Help Desk
There will be a Student Help Desk to support tech issues in the building for our Columbia students. It is located in the Library.
All students during the week of Sept 21st- 25th will need to call the helpdesk line at 208-468-4777 for technical assistance. The Student Help Desk will be CLOSED this week as our student support team receives training.
End of Day Busing
There will be signs posted listing the bus numbers for each wave so you know when your bus arrives and leaves.
Contact Brown Bus Company with your questions on busing. (208)466-4181
Picture Day -- Thursday/Friday
School pictures for ID badges is this Thursday (X students), September 24th & Friday (Y students), September 25th during English class. All students and staff need to have a picture taken.
If your student has English class at NHS or SHS, they will need to come to the auditorium foyer to have their picture taken either day when they are at CHS.
PSAT and SAT Day is October 14th
October 14th, 2020 is the testing day for PSAT and SAT. Students in 10th grade and 12th grade will be attending school in person on this day to take these state assessments. This is a Wednesday. Students will take the test at Columbia High School and busing will be provided.
Seniors will take the SAT. This was postponed from last spring due to COVID-19. The SAT is a required test for graduation.
Sophomore students will take the PSAT. This test is designed to prepare students for the SAT that they will take as juniors.
Juniors who would like to retake the PSAT may do so. There is a $20 fee to retake the exam. If you would like to do this, email Mr. Jason Hoyt, jhoyt@nsd131.org, by October 2nd, 2020.
