Upcoming Events

Welcome back from Thanksgiving break. Hope everyone had a delightful and delicious Thanksgiving! But we are hardly done celebrating!


  • This Friday, December 4th at 6:30 - Religious School-led Services featuring a hilarious and insightful d'var torah from Kitah Hey, prayers led by all classes, music from Shir Tephila, and oneg sponsored by Kitah Hey parents. Hope to many, many enthusiastic and exited prayer leaders of every age (and from every class!) at this very special evening.
  • This Sunday, December 6th, we are back in session at 9:30 a.m. We'll take a special holiday photograph of our whole school (see below) and every class will celebrate Hanukkah with latkes dreidels, and gelt at 11:15!
  • Next Friday, December 11th, is our congregational Hanukkah dinner at 5:45. followed by Shabbat services. Dinner provided by Gypsy Queen Cuisine. Call the office (253-4911) to make your reservation. Cost for the dinner is $16 for adults and $7 for children ages 6-12.
  • Next Sunday, December 13th (our last session before winter break) we will hand out awards to the winners of our Annual Menorah Making Contest! And (if you can believe it!) we'll be half way through our school year!

Photo Ops

This Sunday, December 6th, we'll be taking a group photo of all our Religious School students, teachers, madrichim, and staff at 9:45, directly following Kehila Tephila.


Please arrive promptly at 9:30 am for a little Hanukkah story followed by a photograph in the gallery next to Dave Hll.


Ask your children to Wear Solid colors...and BIG SMILES!



Also ... be part of CBHT history in the making! This Friday, December 4th at Religious School-led Services!


In honor of CBHT's 125th anniversary of the founding of our Temple April, 2016, we are assembling a commemorative Yearbook and it won’t be complete without you. The Yearbook will not only capture a snapshot of our congregation in 2016, it will also include a history of the Temple, Photographs of Temple members, the Temple’s impact on the greater Jewish and Asheville communities and congratulatory messages.

Thanks to the generosity of Asheville's own Professional Photographer Laurie Johnson, your ad of a quarter page or larger can include a beautiful portrait of your family as well as your personal message. Your ad purchase is fully tax-deductible and proceeds will be used to benefit the L’Dor V’Dor Capital Campaign.

Our next photo session will be this Friday night Dec. 4th: before and after services. Wear solid colors &/or bright happy colors...want to dress alike? ...Let's include whole family!
