Strength & Nutrition Program Led by Betsy McNally coming to RGT June 3 & 4
Who is Betsy? Check out the video above. A little gymnastics background from Betsy's website, "I was a gymnast from the age of 3 to 16, competitive and ultra dedicated. Later in life I became a professional Fitness Competitor in the IFBB, which is a combination of gymnastics and bodybuilding. I was also a gymnastics coach, most recently under Olympic Coach Mary Lee Tracy"
Betsy will be here THE FIRST WEEKEND IN JUNE. Please mark your calendars. Once Chris receives a firm schedule, he will communicate to all parents the particulars. When Betsy is here, she'll work with our athletes during training to help identify weaknesses to be addressed. She'll also lead strength rotations with the girls and coaches in order to teach them how to maximize strength training. There will also be a nutrition talk with the athletes and parents, as well as question and answer time. After her visit, Betsy will provide weekly workouts for the girls. She will continue to talk with the coaches (and sometimes the athletes) through weekly FaceTime sessions in order to keep track of progress, and to continually adjust the workouts based on our needs. Our coaches may also bring her back to the gym every 6 months or so in order to work directly with the athletes.
RGT believes this is a unique opportunity for our athletes and will assume the financial cost of bringing Betsy here. We are waiting to receive a detailed invoice, but estimate that the full weekend described above, with travel costs, should cost in the range of $2,500.00.
Chris says, "Betsy has not only coached gymnastics through level 10, but also does strength and nutritional planning for girls on the National Team, TOPs Team, and girls in the developmental camps. She has a great understanding of where our girls are headed, and what they need to do for their bodies in order to get there."
We're so excited for this - and will keep you posted with further details.
Baking Buddies! May 15-20
Each team member is asked to bring in baked goods that are individually wrapped by Monday, May 15th. We'll have a table set up each afternoon/evening in the waiting area that week until our supply goes. Not a baker? Get your daughter's group together and have them do the baking! Or feel free to pick up store treats - It's the sugar - I mean the thought - that counts! Look for an email with more details to follow.
RGTPA Board Nominations Due June 1
NOMINATE NOW: HERE by June 1. We will vote at our June RGTPA meeting. (Date TBA)
Dear Parents,
It's been a pleasure getting to meet so many parents and serve you this year! To keep things growing, and to meet some personal needs next year, I'm stepping down as President. Please consider nominating yourself or a friend for President next year. Getting to know more about Ricochets, our parents, and your gymnasts has been a lot of fun. If you're thinking about it and have questions, please email me directly for more information. Thank you for a great year! :) Amanda
We also need PARENT REPS FROM EACH TEAM GROUP! We're looking to spring into action (Ok, I guess I can't use this pun more than one time) and ensure everyone has a chance to get involved and share their strengths with the community.
What it is: It's like being the classroom parent in a school community. RGTPA needs one parent rep from EACH TEAM GROUP to step up to be a liaison between the RGTPA, Ricochets, and your parent group. We can't be successful without full participation.
What we're looking for: Attend each RGTPA meeting and report back to your parent group. (If you can't make a meeting, designate a replacement for that meeting.) This is the minimum mandatory requirement for each team group. Some ideas if you'd like to go above and beyond:
Help coordinate the fundraising/community building efforts of your gymnasts' group with the rest of the larger group. How you do that is up to your unique set of strengths and ability. Maybe you help coordinate carpools with your group if that's a need. Maybe you help someone on the team actualize a fundraising idea. Maybe you call the new family that just joined the group and welcome them.
Is there a special talent/business connection that you've got and would like to share?
Email us your name and what you think you can do to help your daughter's team. For example: do you own a business and think you have a special way to help RGTPA and your gymnast? We're looking for ways to build community, raise money for our girls to do the sport they love the most, and to maybe have some fun ourselves. Let us know how you can help.

Annual Banquet - save this date too!

Location and details to follow! This annual event is a chance for us to celebrate all the hard work our gymnasts have put into the year's competitive season.
