Clever Elementary

A Note from Mrs. Hobbs

Welcome back Clever families! I hope this message finds you and your loved ones healthy. We are so thrilled to see students back in the building and equally as thrilled to see our students virtually! Each month I will send an update on the fun and learning occurring here at Clever in grade third through fifth. I cannot wait to partner with you all this year. Be sure to follow the Clever 3-5 Facebook page for additional information and photos!

Please know student safety is always at the forefront of our mind. I appreciate your patience in advance as we navigate this together.

Class Lists and Open House

Class lists will not be posted as they have in years past. Your child's teacher will be reaching out via phone call, email, or mail. Virtual Open House will take place on August 20th at 4:00. You will be emailed the link for this virtual event and be able to access information from your child's teacher.

First Day of School

The first day of school is Tuesday, August 25th.

School Start Time: 7:55 a.m. (Doors will open at 7:40)

School End Time: 3:40 p.m.

Arrival Procedures: Students will proceed directly to their classrooms after arriving at school. Breakfast will be served grab and go style and eaten in the classroom.

Please refer to the Traffic Flow Map for drop-off and pick-up. We will be utilizing the lane west of the building next to the FEMA shelter. This lane will be utilized for all preschool through 8th grade students being dropped-off. Building doors will open at 7:40 a.m. Adults will be present outside at 7:40 to begin assisting drop-off. Once you arrive at a blue cone, your child may safely and independently exit the vehicle.

Dismissal Procedures: School will be dismissed at 3:40 p.m. Students may be picked up from the car line (lane next to the FEMA shelter). In order to decrease congestion, please do not line up prior to 3:20 p.m. It is our goal to get students with families within 15 minutes.

Please note, we are adopting new dismissal procedures with a focus on safety. Be on the lookout for more information and please be patient with us as we navigate this new system.

Big picture

Communication

Please call the 3-5 office with changes in contact information as soon as possible throughout the year. Clever educators value communication with families!

Masks

Students will be required to wear masks/face coverings in the following areas/situations:
  • All students (K-12) during transportation on buses.

  • Students in Grades K-5 are required to wear masks in hallways and common areas. Students will be kept with their stable group during these transitions.

  • All students may be required to wear masks during periods in classrooms throughout the day when social distancing is not possible.

  • Students are required to bring their own cloth mask. Cloth masks must be made of tightly woven fabric and cover both the nose and mouth. A limited supply of disposable masks are available if needed. Students with medical/special needs may be exempt from this requirement.

Daily Wellness Checks

Each day we are asking families to do a wellness check of all students before they come to school. Employees will be doing this as well. Following these guidelines will help everyone stay healthy.
