A Note From the Principal
Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful Fall Break and time well spent with family and friends. This is a beautiful time of year as the seasons are changing, the weather is getting a little cooler, and the leaves begin to show their fall colors. We are also excited about this time of year at school when students will be celebrated at our first Celebration Assembly and parents will be attending Conferences to see what all their students are learning here at school.
Thanks again for all you do!

Fire Safety
This Wednesday, October 19th, firefighters from both Lewisport and Hawesville will be teaching our students about the importance of fire safety. We so appreciate our community partners for taking time out of their busy schedules to come to North Hancock.
As you are discussing fire safety in your home, do you have a safe meeting spot for your family in the event of a fire? Do you practice exiting your home in the event of a fire?
Parent Teacher Conferences
Our goal is to get 100% of our families attending a conference with their child's teacher!!! We value our families as an integral part of our team and look forward to synergizing with you to best meet the needs of our students.

The Leader in Me
During the month of October, we will focus on a new habit, Habit 2 - Begin with the End in MInd! This habit is all about thinking about the end result before you even get started. We are teaching our students the importance of goal setting and that a GOAL is more than just a WISH!
Another goal that many students have here at school is to memorize their multiplication facts. A LEAD MEASURE to help meet this goal might be studying math flash cards daily, singing multiple songs, and even playing math multiplication games to help our students learn their facts with automaticity.
Simone Biles, US Olympics Gymnast, has a great way of looking at goal setting. She reminds us to not just celebrate reaching our goals but also being proud and having mini celebrations with each step we make toward meeting our goal!
We know our students can do GREAT THINGS when we set goals and work hard to achieve them!
