Training recap, invitation
Users explore reports in ongoing SD-STARS training series
The SD-STARS team began a webinar training series in October. Following is a recap of the first two sessions in the series and a sneak peek at the third session, which will be offered in February 2021. More information is available at GoSignMeUp or via email at STARSHelp@state.sd.us.
Webinar recap: October and November
The Department of Education offered online trainings for district- and school-level users of SD-STARS in an interactive webinar format. These webinars gave participants time to practice finding data in SD-STARS reports and to make observations on the data they found. October’s training focused on attendance data, while participants in the November training explored quantitative data which are useful to inform action plans for school improvement. These skills will prove handy for schools that are conducting a comprehensive needs analysis at the local level.
Training materials for both webinars, including slides, notes, templates, and links to additional resources, can be found in the Content Library and Training Center.
Upcoming training
SD-STARS training: Finding trends & making observations
This training session will give participants time to practice finding data, observing trends, and making comparisons. Specifically, we will focus on SD-STARS reports that display data to help participants compare grade levels, demographics, or other subgroups - both in static form (one-time snapshots of data) and longitudinally (data that changes over time.)
This event’s listing is in Central time.
