Bulldog Bulletin
Oct. 21 - 25
A huge thank you to our PTA for organizing another fun-filled family event this past Friday. Many of our Grange Hall families enjoyed an evening of games, food, costumes, and candy. Thank you to all that volunteered their time and donations to make this event possible.
Let's kick-off Red Ribbon Week by wearing RED tomorrow! This is open to all students, staff, and parent/community volunteers! Help us send a clear message to be drug and bully-free!
There has been a change in the school calendar, so please adjust yours! The Board approved, in part, Memo #106-19, adjusting the current school-year calendar as follows in anticipation of heavy voter turnout for the March 3 Super Tuesday primary:
- Tuesday, March 3 will be a student holiday.
- Friday, March 13 will be a full day of instruction for students.
Mr. Ondrish is currently out of the office for the next two weeks. During that time, we will have one of CCPS's retired principals, Mrs. Peggy Innes, serving as a substitute admin on Thursday and Friday of this week.
We are in need of newspapers for our STEAM and Art classes! If you have any around, please send them in with your child. Thank you so much!
Please take a moment to read this brief overview of our Social-Emotional Curriculum here at GHES: SEL for GHES Parents
Have a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
Courtney Jones

Gifted Testing Referrals
CCPS provides gifted education services to eligible students. In order for a student to be evaluated for eligibility, additional areas of strength, and/or CBG Academy admission, a Gifted Program Services Referral and Review Form must be submitted to start the process. These forms may be completed by parents/guardians, community members, teachers, or students and are available throughout the year during normal operating hours from counseling or main office staff. Verbal or email communications do not serve as a substitute for this form.
Signed and dated referral forms must be submitted to the student's school by the end of the school day on the referral deadline date to be considered for assessment during the testing window for that grade level. If any of these dates fall on a weekend, school holiday/break, or snow day, the deadline is the end of the next school day in which school is in session.
Referral deadlines are as follows:
- October 15 - students currently in grade 5
- December 15 - students currently in grades 2-4
- March 15 - students currently in KG or grade 1
Reflections Contest - Look Within
National PTA Reflections Art Contest is currently accepting entries for the 2019-20 theme ‘Look Within’! ENTRY FORMS are available in the GHES library. The deadline for entries to be submitted to the GHES library is Friday, October 25th. Please encourage your child to participate!
Need to report your child's absence?
*If you complete this Google form, you do not need to send in a written note.
