Note from the Office
When reporting an absence or late arrival, we will ask you for your child’s name, their teacher’s name and a brief reason for their absence. The direct line for our attendance is 317-915-4248. Even if you email the teacher, you MUST still report the absence to the office! Thank you!
What's Cooking?
Due to supply shortages, the cafeteria is not able to provide water cups for our students during breakfast and lunch. It is important that you send a water bottle for your child to have at lunch.
If you are sending money into the school to be added to your child's lunch account, you MUST put the money into an envelope clearly labeled with your child's name, teacher's name and their lunch number (you can find this in skyward: click on Student Information and look under the picture and find Other ID). Please note that your child's account may not reflect deposits until the next school day.

A Message from the Clinic
Please remember to send your student to school healthy. If a student is ill and has any of the symptoms of Covid listed below, we encourage you to get your student tested using a PCR test, which is available via Fishers Health Department (COVID Vaccine | Fishers, IN - Official Website) or the Indiana Department of Health (ISDH - Novel Coronavirus: COVID-19 Testing Information). PCR tests are the most accurate and provide less risk of a false positive or negative result. Please do not send your child to school ill or while waiting for Covid test results.
Symptoms to monitor for:
Fever or chills
Cough
Shortness of Breath or difficulty breathing
Fatigue
Muscle or body aches
Headache
New loss of taste or smell
Sore Throat
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
3rd & 4th Grade Students
This year 3rd grade and 4th grade students in second semester will be introduced to their first independent instrument; the recorder. This unit has been on Covid hiatus, but I am excited to be able to bring it back! The program will continue next year in 4th grade and later at the Intermediate schools.
Students will be expected to have their OWN recorder in music class and one at home to practice. Since each brand of recorder is made with different materials it is imperative that we all use the same model to produce the best quality sound. Older sibling recorders can be used as long as they are in good condition and bought through Mrs. Ross or a music teacher.
Please complete and return the recorder order forms and money to Mrs. A-C by Monday, March 14th.

Best Buddies Friendship Walk
Hoosier Road families and staff will be participating in the 2022 Best Buddies Friendship Walk on Sunday, April 24th downtown Indianapolis. No Need to Wait! Enroll Now!
All HRE families are invited to enroll incoming Kindergarten students for the 2022-2023 school year. Students must be five years old on or before August 1, 2022*.
To enroll your student, go to your current SKYWARD account and look for the tab labeled "New Student Online Enrollment". If you don't have an account or will be new to HRE, please click the link below to begin the process: https://www.hseschools.org/about/enrollment
Be prepared to scan and upload the following documents:
- Child's birth certificate
- Child's immunization records

HRE will still be hosting a traditional "Kindergarten Open House" on Thursday, April 14th from 5:00-7:00 PM. All families in the community may come to meet our Kindergarten teachers, tour the building and even take a ride on a school bus!

*Parents can request approval for early entrance to kindergarten for children who will turn 5 between between August 2nd and September 30th.
