HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHT ~ Connections (found on page 19): The following are key components of Learning Period connections: Bi-weekly, live communication between EF and scholar/learning coach; Work assignment samples; Completed PE/Activity Logs. Missing any of the three from the list above for any learning period or consistently late work samples (due by the last day of each learning period) will be considered a violation of the Master Agreement contract, and the learning coach will receive a warning. If the missing items aren’t addressed in a timely manner, a meeting will convene to determine whether placement at CCS independent study is an appropriate placement for the scholar. Similarly, if the EF determines that satisfactory educational progress is not being made, the EF shall notify the scholar and parent and conduct an evaluation to determine whether it is in the best interest of the scholar to remain in the program. In the case of expulsion, the scholar’s district of residence will be informed.
END OF LEARNING PERIOD ~ Learning Period 8 ends next Tuesday, April 30. Please be sure you are up to date with all of your activity logs in ParentSquare. Also, please be sure to upload your scholar’s work samples into Seesaw by this Friday, April 26 although before is better! Here are some helpful work sample guides for TK-8 and high school. Contact your EF if you have any questions.
