Hello, Mustangs!

This has been a most wonderful week! Many thanks to our parents who were able to join us for Bring Your Parent to PE Week!! The children so enjoyed having you join them for sweating and laughing! When I ventured through class I must say that there were some parents who were breathing pretty hard but with smiles! Thank you all again!

Thank you to our parents who collected and sent BoxTops for Education! This is an effort by our PTO to support our students and school without it being a fundraiser. Please continue to collect these BoxTops for Education labels as we will have another collection opportunity. With baking season coming upon us continue to watch your packages for clipping the labels.

The children were precious for Fall pictures! If your child was not at school on Wednesday, please know that there is a makeup day on November 1.

Sunday's Harlem Wizards Game promises to be filled with fun! We do hope you are able to join us! Bring your humor and cheering skills! This is my first time seeing this event and I understand that you can't help but have a blast. We all need fun as laughter is good for the heart!! Hope to see you there! Game time is 2:00 p.m. at Meadow Glen Middle School.

Enjoy the weekend and a good book as a bit of Fall weather ventures our way!

Yours truly,

Jan Fickling, Principal of Midway Elementary

MES District Honor Choir Representatives

Music teachers Mrs. Rogers and Miss Trent are proud to announce Midway’s District Honor Choir representatives. Fifth graders Eunwoo Choi, Colsen Guy, and Madison Zuniga were selected through an audition process to be members of the Lexington One Children’s District Honor Choir.

The audition, which is performed for three judges, requires each student to sing “America” (My Country ‘Tis of Thee) as a solo without piano accompaniment and to sing the F Major scale as a solo without accompaniment. Over one hundred Lexington One fifth and sixth graders competed for a spot in the fifty-voice honor choir.

The District Honor Choir will rehearse on Tuesday afternoons at Pleasant Hill Middle School. Performances will be given December 1st and 2nd with the Lexington Choral Society. The District Honor Choir will conclude its season with a final performance on Tuesday, March 13, 2018.

Congratulations Eunwoo, Colsen, and Madison!

Take Your Parent to PE Week~September 25-29th

What an awesome week Mrs. Owens and I had this week!!! It was great to see over 525 parents/grandparents/sisters/brothers/aunts/uncles in our gym. Everyone worked hard and left sweaty, hot and tired....we loved it. We want to thank everyone for coming to see their child and see what an awesome program we have at Midway.

And a side note to our week...we now know where I students get their competitive spirit. The apple did not fall far from the tree.

Thank you for a great Take Your Parent to PE Week!!! Also our Miles to Excellence after school program will start next Wednesday Oct. 4th. If you haven't signed your Mustang up yet, please click on the link below.
