South Asheboro Middle School
October 2020
Dear Families,
SAMS had a great first week welcoming students back into our building. Thank you to parents for your diligence in making sure students only come to school when they feel well, are fever free, and can answer “No” to each of the three screening questions. Our new car rider location has been a success, and we thank you all for your patience at drop off and pick up as we learn our new routine. Our building level staff and custodians have done a fantastic job ensuring that our building is cleaned and sanitized. We are asking students to continue to do their part by remembering the Three W’s...Wear a mask, Wait six feet apart, and Wash your hands.
Sincerely,
SAMS Administration

Exploratory
It has been a wonderful return back to school for our exploratory classes. We are so excited to see our students again! Please remember to watch your students' grades in Powerschool and have your students remember to watch their stream, emails, and Sunday weekly schedules to know what to bring to school for their exploratory lessons.
P.E. students remember to bring tennis shoes.
Band students remember to bring instruments.
Art students need their current artwork.
All exploratory classes except PE will need students to bring chromebooks, a pencil, and notebooks.
Check Powerschool
Students quickly adjusted to our “new normal” at school. We have worked this past week on new policies and procedures. Please continue to monitor grades via Powerschool. This is the best way to see any missing, incomplete, and graded work. We are working hard to close out Q1 and rock Q2.
Cozy Up to a Good Book!
How to put books on hold
Your book will be delivered to your classroom. Happy Reading!
Medical Reminder
Students cannot attend school if they have a fever > 100℉, more than 2 episodes of vomiting or diarrhea in 24 hours. They may return to school when the symptoms have been resolved without the use of fever reducing medication (Advil, Tylenol, Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen) for at least 24 hours.
It is more important than ever to keep your child home if they are sick. We do not want students or staff to spread illness and lose time from school or work. Your cooperation is needed and appreciated.
