December Meeting eColors

Part of our December meeting will include a eColors training. eColors is different and more in-depth than True Colors. This eColors training will include your Technology Specialist and your Campus Technology Support Professional.

Alief ISD HPL Learning Link Ready For Launch

What we have been anxiously awaiting is here! Trainers from HPL will be at our December meeting to train us in the in's and out's of the HPL Learning Link. You won't want to miss this training. There is more information about this in the December Flipped Meeting Video.

Setting The Trend 2019 - FREE

Clear Creek ISD is sponsoring the Setting The Trend Conference once again in 2019. The conference will be Thursday, June 6, 2019, from 8:30 to 2:45. This is a free learning opportunity.


From now until December 10th, there is an opportunity for session proposals to be submitted. Use the form linked below to read about the conference and how to submit a session proposal.

Capstone Matching eBook Grant

Capstone is once again offering dollar-for-dollar matching grants for Capstone Interactive eBook orders. The minimum to apply is a purchase of $750 and the maximum is a purchase of $5000. This is a great way to add to your eBook collection. Click here for more information and to apply.

Skeeters Reading Program - FREE

Christina B. Woll Scholarship - TLA Conference

The Texas Library Association Christina B. Woll Grant provides $1,000 to a school or public library that demonstrates a need to develop or enhance a particular part of the overall collection, a need to develop or enhance a particular program, or a need to support a particular part of the curriculum. The grant commemorates Christina Woll’s passion for children’s literature. The deadline for applications for the grant is January 31, 2019, and the grant will be awarded prior to the TLA annual conference in April.

Huda Fahmy - Local WebComic Artist/Author

Huda Fahmy is the author/artist of "Yes, I'm Hot In This", a webcomic about life as a Muslim American woman. A collection of her comics has been published. She also has taught middle and high school. She is available for school visits. https://www.yesimhotinthis.com/

Free-ish Books for Read Across America Day

The Literacy Empowerment America Foundation offers free books that can be used for Read Across America Day. The catch is that those participating have to pay for shipping (usually a dollar per book). All the titles seem to be for younger grades. https://www.lefbooks.org/
