Cards
A video card is a piece of computer hardware that's rectangular in shape with numerous contacts on the bottom of the card and one or more ports on the side for connection to video displays and other devices. The video card installs in an expansion slot on the motherboard. While most video cards are of the PCIe format, video cards come in other formats as well, including PCI and AGP. These additional formats are older standards and don't communicate with the CPU and other components as quickly as PCIe.
A network interface card is a circuit board or that is installed in a computer so that it can be connected to a network. A network interface card provides the computer with a dedicated, full-time connection to a network. Personal computers and workstations on a local area network typically contain a network interface card specifically designed for the LAN transmission technology
Different options or sizes for the computer hardware component cards
Cheaper desktop computers do not have a separate video card and instead have an integrated graphics chip. This means that the graphics chip is designed into the motherboard. All laptops and notebooks also use integrated graphics chips. Graphics chips are not as powerful as separate video cards, so if you plan on playing the latest computer games, or using 3D graphics for other purposes, you should probably have a desktop with a good 3D video card.
