Warren Weekly Update

December 9, 2022
Our students had the opportunity to have our friends from Ashland High School come to Warren and share cheer with a winter concert. The students were an amazing audience demonstrating our core values and enjoy the talents of our older students.
Next Friday, report cards will be sent home with all students. Also as a reminder, December 23rd is an early release at 1:15. Lunch will be served.
Please see the attached flyer regarding our upcoming Drop Everything and Play at Warren School. Maria Montessori created the famous quote, “Play is the work of the child.” All students will have the opportunity to play a game with friends at one point during the school day. Please see the flyer below for additional information.
Save the date for an upcoming shared parent coffee with Warren and Mindess on Wednesday, February 1, at 9:30 AM: Ashland's elementary school Principals invite parents and caregivers to attend this in-person conversation about managing your child's stress, anxiety, and worries. Linda Price, a child/adolescent therapist from Minding Your Mind, will provide a framework for understanding your child's stress and anxiety with practical guidance on how you can be a support. Leave with resources and new skills. There will be plenty of time for your questions.
Have a great weekend,
Pete
Holiday Support
If you are a parent or guardian concerned about how your financial situation may impact your children at the holidays, please reach out to Jennifer Cutler at jcutler@ashland.k12.ma.us or via phone (508) 532-4015 to have a confidential conversation regarding holiday assistance by December 9, 2022. We will be utilizing the Helping Our Own Fund in conjunction with community partners (Holiday Dreams Foundation and Ashland Human Services) to make a difference. We will do our best to offset the challenges the holidays may bring.
If you are in the position to assist with financial donations and would like to help with holiday generosity, we ask that you send a check written out to Ashland Public Schools Helping Our Own Fund to the attention of Jennifer Pavia-Shiels at Ashland High School, 65 East Union Street, Ashland, MA 01721. You can also make an online donation by clicking on the following link, https://epay.cityhallsystems.com/selection and click on the Helping Our Own link in the drop down menu. The Helping Our Own Fund is utilized all year long to provide support for students in our district whose families are facing financial challenges. The fund has been utilized for holiday gifts, school supplies, calculators, senior week tickets and prom dresses to name a few.
Ashland High School Coding Club
The club will be making personalized Christmas ornaments for $10 each as a fundraiser. These personalized ornaments will be in the shape of your child’s hand with their name engraved in the middle. In order to make these ornaments, we will need an outline of your child’s hand on a white piece of paper with Sharpie or any other dark marker. Please attach the paper with your child’s hand’s outline to the order form and submit the money (either cash or check) by Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Thank you!
The club is also making Christmas ornament packs for $15 dollars each. Below are designs of the ornaments packs that will later be engraved on wood:
