While we’re at the cemetery we will have a skit that will help us think about the real meaning of the Gospel in our lives (death & resurrection, remember?).
Please dress warmly! Parents are needed & welcome walk with the group & are welcome to participate in the whole evening. Permission slips (below) are required unless your parents are present.
Parents - please email me if you'd like to join us!

From Building & Grounds Volunteer Chair:
A bit chilly but we have 240 ground cover plants to put in Sat morning in front of the St. Pius office door. 9:30 – finished. Many hands clearly make light work in this regard. I would love it if so many showed up I had to send people home! Please let me know if you can help out. Should not be too taxing a chore. Thanks

The Hands of Christ Recognition
The Hands of Christ is a recognition program created by the Diocese of Rochester to assist parishes in affirming their high school seniors who have been the “Hands of Christ” in their church, home, school and community, sponsored by the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis. Recognized seniors are invited to receive a plaque from the Most Reverend Bishop Salvatore R. Matano at one of three special Recognition Ceremonies to be held in February 2019. This year St Pius X Church is honored to host one of these Recognition Ceremonies.
The Criteria to receive this very special recognition:
- Is currently a high school senior.
- Has consistently demonstrated a Christian attitude by word and example.
- Has been actively involved in the parish as well as their school or community.
- Has been a positive role model to their peers, younger children and adults.
- Is a practicing Roman Catholic in a parish in the Diocese of Rochester and attends Mass.

Parish Fall Clean Up Saturday, November 10
Please join Troop 178 on Saturday, November 10th starting at 9:00 a.m.
for the annual Fall Cleanup on the grounds of Saint Pius X.
Everyone is welcome to come and help out; there is always plenty to do.
Please bring rakes, gloves and tarps (and leaf blowers if you have them).
The Boy Scouts in conjunction with the St Pius X Federal Credit Union will provide a picnic lunch.
Please come out to help our Parish and enjoy some fellowship with fellow parishioners.
This is also a great opportunity for youth who need to earn community service hours for school. (It usually amounts to 3-4 hours of service for the day.)
No sign up necessary, just show up!
As well as an opportunity use your gifts and talents in service as part of the Confirmation Prerequisite Program.

Save the Date: Apple Pies for Veterans on Veterans Day!
The St Pius X youth are invited to come together at St Pius School on Veterans Day (Monday, Nov 12, 9-Noon) to make apple pies to give as a Thank You to a Veteran. Each teen will bring the ingredients for 1 pie and we’ll work together to make pies to thank Veterans for their service. Do you know a vet? You can take your pie home & give it to them. Don’t know a Vet? Help deliver pies to the VFW in Chili!
