Student Leadership Teams Recap (May 1st)

Wow...our Student Leadership Teams were amazing this year. Our students and staff embraced this leadership opportunity and were very innovative in their ideas and service to our school and community. We are already planning for next year and will be revising and adding leadership teams for our students. Please take a look at the below summary of the work our Student Leadership Teams completed for their last meeting on May 1st! Great work Pathfinder!

Congratulations to Social Worker Heather Schuller...PCR3 Service Person of the Year!

"Heather has the biggest heart for all students and it shows in the way she treats them with respect and dignity. She is at the center of the Pathfinder family, making sure everyone is checking in with one another and supporting each other in all facets of life." She addresses various student needs while collaborating with staff and community partners to build safety nets and skills, including leading an innovative topic study on the affects trauma has on learning. She truly works to make Pathfinder Elementary a better, happier, and healthier place.

Congrats to our PTA Red Apple and PTA Star Award Winners!

Each year our PTA sponsors the Red Apple Award that goes to a teacher who is nominated by our staff who demonstrated our core values and principles. This year 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Cortney McQueen was presented with the award at our May 1st student assembly!

Our PTA also sponsors the Star Award that goes to our support staff member who displays the same values and principles throughout our school. Mrs. Janet DeWeese, paraprofessional, was the recipient of the award this year.

We are surrounded by so many great teachers and staff. Thank you Pathfinder staff and congrats Mrs. McQueen and Mrs. DeWeese!

Inclement Weather/Make Up Day Plan

So far in the 2018-19 school year, PCR-3 has missed nine days of school due to inclement weather.

In an effort to not push the school year into the month of June, and to not interfere with the summer school schedule, the Board of Education was presented a plan to address our inclement weather and makeup days. Friday, April 19, 2019 which was originally a "no school day," has now been identified as a make-up day for students and staff.

A complete summary of inclement weather days and how we will address the days missed can be found below.

Inclement weather make-up days:

  • 1st day missed (to be made up on Friday, April 19)
  • 2nd day missed (to be made up on May 23)
  • 3rd day missed (to be made up on May 24)
  • 4th day missed (to be made up on May 28)
  • 5th day missed (to be made up on May 29)
  • 6th day missed (to be made up on May 30)
  • 7th day missed (to be made up on May 31)
  • 8th day missed – forgiven, no make up necessary
  • 9th day missed (can be waived with Board approval as we have an extra day built into our academic calendar)

Bullying and Safety Concerns: SafeSchools Alert

Safety is one of our district’s top priorities and to help safeguard our school community, our district uses SafeSchools Alert, a tip reporting service that allows students, staff, and parents to submit safety concerns to our administration.

You and your child can easily report tips on bullying, harassment, or any safety issue you're concerned about through SafeSchools Alert. On the homepage of the district website ( and on each school building's homepage there is a SafeSchools Alert icon under Site Shortcuts which links to the reporting tool.

Every tip SafeSchools Alert receives about our district is immediately logged in the system and our administration is notified so that they can investigate and take appropriate action. Tips may also be submitted anonymously if you prefer.

Together, using SafeSchools Alert, we can make our district a safer place to learn. Click the icon below to submit a tip or concern.
