We continued to work on our paleontology unit. We sketched a new dinosaur species and added them to our mural.

Grade 3 Wednesday

Jan. 28

We continued our Galleon Unit. We are racing back to Spain to deliver the gold to our King and Queen.

FIELD TRIP PERMISSION Money due Feb. 4


We explored the people of the Medieval Times and their roles during those times. We also learned about offense and defense. We will continue to learn about the way castles were invaded.

Grade 5 Tuesday

We continued to write our checks. This week we had to buy a car and purchase two weeks worth of groceries. Next week we will have a Middle School Madness Day. Darnell, Kirby, LaVilla, and Landon are coming to do presentations for the kids. These presentations are to generate interest and get the student excited about going to middle school.

Kirby-Smith Gifted and Talented Science and Technology Summer Camp 2015

Monday, June 15th, 9pm

Sessions will be on the Kirby Smith Campus

Dates: Session #1( June 15- June 26th) Session #2 (July 13 -24 July


The camp meets in a 2 two week session from 9 AM until 4 PM


The camp is a two-week intensive experience in science and technology limited to Gifted and Talented students in the First Coast area. Students will work with faculty using science and technology labs on challenging activities.

Suggested age range, rising 3th-rising 6th graders (exception may considered)

Fees: $ 400 for the 2 week session. Go to http://dcps.duvalschools.org/domain/7268 for enrollment packet. Fill out forms and attach a check or money order with full amount made out to KSMS. Cash payments can be made in person only. We are not set up to accept credit or debit cards.


Transportation to and from campus is not provided. Extended day may be available for an additional fee depending on demand. Campers need to bring daily lunch.
