BRMS Band and Chorus Win at Music in the Parks!

On Friday, May 3, BRMS's Symphonic Band and Select Chorus were rewarded for their excellent performances at the annual "Music in the Parks" competition in Kutztown, PA. After a year of furthering their fundamental musical skills, our talented young musicians had the opportunity to perform for several professional judges.

Under the direction of Dr. Kenneth Piascik and Mrs. Kathy Vespignani, the Symphonic Band and Select Chorus were honored for their hard work with three trophies. Not only did the band and chorus receive the highest ranking of "Superior," but they also were bestowed the "Esprit de Corps" award. The "Esprit de Corps" is not part of the musical adjudication, but a special honor to recognize the performers who demonstrate the epitome of sportsmanship both on and off the stage.

On behalf of the BRMS Music Department, the trophies were accepted by 8th Grade Students George Kaparis, Jay Kavathia, Ginger Meyer, and Emma Stark.

5th Graders and their Families Get Acquainted with BRMS!

On April 24, the Bragg 5th grade classes came to BRMS to tour the school and to find out what middle school is all about! They were shown around by BRMS students and had their questions answered by Principal White and Guidance Counselors Amal Azzara and Michelle Elberty. Then on April 25, parents of the 5th graders had an evening orientation at BRMS where they got a chance to learn about the transition from elementary to middle school. The BRMS community looks forward to welcoming the incoming 6th grade class!
