First UMC Sealy Digest
A look at happenings at First United Methodist Church Sealy
This Sunday, Dec. 20: 4th Week in Advent
This Sunday we will continue on the journey through the season of Advent, following our SENT Sermon Series. In our fourth week of Advent we'll learn that Jesus Brings New Life! Can these dry bones live? You bet they can! Jesus has this habit of showing up in the most unlikely of people and places, turning them into something glorious. It's called transformation and it is the heart of the Christmas story. You are meant to experience the new life of Christmas and be one of God's everyday miracles. The good news of Christmas is that a world of miracles is closer than you think. The only question is will you open to living love being born anew inside of you?
Please contribute to our Angel Tree in the Narthex! Pin donations including cash, checks and Walmart gift cards to the tree. These donations, along with the money raised at the Vendor Blender, will all go to our Christmas Angel Ministry. We'll buy and deliver Christmas gifts to those in area nursing homes and retirement communities in need of assistance during the Christmas season. Want to help? Please contact Becky Mills.
Youth and adults are invited to join us at 9 am each Sunday during Advent. Dick Fagert will lead the youth in this study. Mary Ann Matthys and Richard Bauman will lead the adult study. We hope everyone considers being a part of this study, one that will prepare all of us to be disciples of Christ as we approach Christmas.

Christmas Music Re-cap
What a joyous morning we had with our young drummers, our First Kids Mother's Day Out singers and soloist Tyler Burgess last weekend!
A BIG thanks to Pastor Curtis and for our Mother's Day Out teachers (Elise Every, Vicki Hensley, Joanna Kruzel and Michelle Rapsilver) for singing and preparing our children to share their musical gifts with us.

Christmas Angel Ministry Grows!
We'd like to thank Erika Burttschell for letting us use her new dance studio space. Also, big thanks to the United Methodist Women and Pastor Curtis for contributing cookies. And also, thanks to Russell Koym who helped us with our electricity issues.
This week we start shopping for our nursing home residents, with plans to deliver gifts the week of Christmas. Thanks to all who help with this ministry! -- Becky Mills, Robin Castillo & Leslie Ellis
