The Crissman Connection

Friday News

Hi Crissman Families,

I had a great time this week visiting each classroom to share a book about Kindness while talking about School Rules. The book was titled Kindness is my Superpower and after the read aloud we had a discussion about what it means to be kind and what to do when someone is being unkind to us. The students also had an opportunity to create their own Kindness Superpower with an activity sheet.

Parent-Teacher Conferences: Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 9 and Thursday, Nov. 11th. Information to sign-up for conferences will be coming home next Friday. Crissman, again, will be using SchoolSoft and the conference will be virtual through TEAMs.

Halloween Information

Parade: Crissman students will be part of an outdoor parade that will begin around 11:15 am. Classrooms will exit the building through their classroom doors. Second Grade will start the parade and we will work our way around the building.

Parents/Guardians may come to watch the parade from the outside, leaving room for students to safely walk around the building. The building/bathrooms will be CLOSED to outside guests, including parents, grandparents, and younger siblings, so please plan ahead.

The parade will begin with our 2nd graders and work our way throughout all the grades/classrooms.

In the event of rain that would usually result in an indoor recess day, the parade will be cancelled with no make up date.

There will be NO early dismissals this day through the office. With the amount of parents/students moving outside there is not enough time to gather students after they finish their parade. Parents are welcome to remain on the grounds for a parent pick up and sign their child out using the classroom sign-out sheet. Each teacher will have a sign-out sheet at their classroom door.

NO BUS LOOP parking. There will be limited space in the Crissman parking lot. Please be respectful of each other during this busy event.

Classroom Activities/Items to pass out: Just as in the past, this may be slightly different for each classroom/grade level. There are NO VOLUNTEERS allowed at Crissman as part of UCS COVID protocols and no candy/non-food items brought in for your child to "pass out" to their classmates. Your child's teacher will send more information on their classroom plans.

Costumes: Students may wear their School Appropriate costume to Crissman on Friday, October 29th. School Appropriate means nothing overly scary, no blood/gore, no weapons (even if it is part of the costume).
