To the Point
Prairie Point Staff Newsletter
Volume 3, Issue #1: Wednesday, August 19, 2016
Thank you for an AWESOME first week!
What a great start to the school year! There is so much to celebrate, I hardly know where to begin. It is exciting that we have all of our kindergarten students here at Prairie Point! I am celebrating that there were no tears today at Door #4! I am also celebrating that I was able to stop by nearly every homeroom class, specials class, lunch period and recess at least one time this week. Not only is it awesome to see the students and watch your classrooms come alive - it is great to get my steps in!!!! I'm also celebrating that I think I have everyone on our faculty's first name down - I'm still working on last names...but I'm way ahead of where I was a week ago! Finally, I am celebrating that I think I have kind of learned how to use this online newsletter that Heidi so kindly left for me. I am starting by using the templates that Heidi left for me. As I get better at navigating these, I'm sure that I will begin to put my own flare into them. On the quite possible chance that I haven't mastered this, you may not even be reading what I am writing...or accessing the links that I've attempted to embed...
What did you celebrate this week? Feel free to shoot me an email with your celebrations. I can't be everywhere, but I still love to hear the good works and little victories in your classroom!

Classroom Readers, Listeners, and Partners
As a reminder, the goal of this program is to develop a two-way relationship across generations.
We will be continuing this again this year. Please let me know if you would like to have a classroom visitor weekly to partner with your classroom as a volunteer, read to your students, or listen to your students read.

Who's In?
Mattix, Molly and I (along with one of my sisters) are signed up and running the Great Pumpkin Run 5K in Oswego on September 17th. It looks like a super-fun way to kick off fall! If you want to be a crazy over-achiever and run with a 10 pound pumpkin there is extra medal bling for your efforts! I am running with a 7 year old, so I will already have my hands full! The entry fee increases in a day or two...so if you are interested, now is the time!
