Supporting English Learners in their growth and achievement requires some differentiated strategies. To support instructional leaders, ELD teachers, and all teachers that teach English learners, Carbon Lehigh IU 21 has a variety of professional learning opportunities to meet your needs. English Language Development Teacher Network Meetings
These sessions aimed at ELD teachers or ELD instructional leaders allow opportunities for networking about program development, assessments, family engagements, and supporting classroom instruction for ELs.
Creating Your District's ELD Curriculum
Review the curriculum development process, customize curriculum templates, and spend time working on curriculum development for English Learners in a hands-on environment. There is a $180 fee for this workshop. Title III funds may be used.
Unlocking English Learner's Potential Book Club
Repeating last year's popular, capacity building book club, participants will spend time reflecting on the text, Unlocking English Learner's Potential, and collaboratively plan mini-professional learning sessions to share in their schools.
Supporting English Learners' Literacy Development
This year-long workshop series, led by Dr. Andrea Kolb, will focus on instructional approaches to teaching literacy to ELs at all levels and ages. This six-part series will include both in-person and virtual sessions.
