Fortunately, the Caribbean is generally blessed with a healthy environment and clean water supplies, and few visitors experience serious health problems when traveling to the islands. Still, the Caribbean is not immune from the occasional outbreak of tropical diseases like malaria, and the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) does recommend that visitors to certain islands get up to date on their immunizations before they leave home.
