A Note of Thanks
We have seen lots of Cougar Pride in recent weeks - supporting our school book fair, encouraging your students to join and fundraise for the PTA Read-a-Thon, participating in the Naperville 5K and 1/2 Marathon, showing up, wearing green, and just simply supporting us. Thank you, Thank you! We are grateful to team with you!
Cougar Class of the Week
Thank you for encouraging your student(s) to show Cougar Pride in the classroom, in our hallways, and on the playground, too!
1st Quarter Report Card Information
It's hard to believe the end of first quarter is here and it is almost report card time. This is a great time to review your child's progress, celebrate successes, and talk about areas of growth.
District 204 provides elementary report cards through ParentVUE. Beginning October 29th at 4:00 p.m., you will be able to view your child's elementary school report card through ParentVUE. Kindergarten report cards for the first quarter include marks for the Math Profile of Progress only. Quarters 2, 3, and 4 will include marks for all areas.
As always, we are happy to connect with you. Please contact your child's teacher with any questions or concerns at report card time and throughout the school year.
We look forward to talking with you at the upcoming parent/teacher conferences on November 18th (in-person) and 22nd (remote). Sign up information will be shared very soon.
Classroom Harvest Parties
On the afternoon of Friday, October 29th, all classrooms will have a harvest party. Classroom teachers will coordinate and plan the celebration. We invite students to bring a costume to wear during the celebration if they so choose. As we want to ensure the safety of all students, as well as maintain an environment conducive to learning, please talk with your child about the following guidelines:
- Students are not to wear costumes to school at the beginning of the day (including make-up and hair dye); time will be provided for students to change into a costume.
- Costumes should be able to be put on in the classroom (over clothing worn that day.)
Parents should assist their child(ren) in making appropriate decisions about what students wear for costumes, ensuring that costumes are school appropriate and meet all of the District 204 Dress Code Guidelines.
Sharp objects (i.e. wooden swords, etc) and play weapons may NOT be part of any costume, as we want to ensure all students’ safety.
Students may leave school that day in costume, if they choose.
Thank you for your cooperation and support as we enjoy this time of celebration as a school! If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s classroom teacher.
News from the LMC - Birthday Books
Are you looking for a great way to celebrate your child’s birthday at school? Whether your child has already had a birthday this school year, or it is coming up...Clow LMC has the answer! You can donate a book to Clow’s LMC to honor your student AND help build our library collection! Here are two ways to participate:
1. Go to Amazon.com. Use the following link to access our wishlist:
You will find books to add to our library collection to purchase for the LMC. The book(s) will be sent directly to our school from Amazon. It's that easy!
2. Send an email to nicole_fader@ipsd.org letting me know your student is able to pick a new book from the birthday book cart in our library. I will generate a $15.00 fee in PushCoin. On or around the date of your child’s birthday, your student will be able to come to the LMC and select a book! (Summer birthdays will be celebrated at the end of the school year.)
With either choice, I will add your student’s picture inside the front cover of the book commemorating the donation and hang his/her picture on the wall of the LMC. Thank you for considering this program! If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact me @ nicole_fader@ipsd.org.
Clow Schoolbag Website
If you have not had a chance to check out our Clow Schoolbag website, this is a great resource for many curricular extensions and tie-ins.
It is housed on our Clow homepage (look for the pencil icon) or you can also find it on the LMC homepage.
Health & Safety Reminders
- Remember to send your student(s) with a mask every day. We recommend sending in extra masks in your child's backpack, in the event they need a spare. We have disposable masks available should a student need one.
- Please do not send your student to school when he/she is sick. If you are unsure, please consider the COVID self-certification questions. If you would have to answer YES to any question on the certification, please do not send the student to school.
- If your child is ill, please do not send any siblings (living in the same household) to school (in any grade level). Contact the health office of the school your symptomatic student attends and ask for further instructions.
- If your child requires a COVID test or if you have questions related to illness or testing, please contact our school nurse, Rhonda Parks - rhonda_parks@ipsd.org or 630-428-6079. She is glad to assist.
