We cannot stress enough the importance of wearing a mask, sanitizing hands as often as possible and adhering to the social-distancing protocols. As a reminder, face masks are required for all teachers, staff, students, parents, and visitors to Tracey Magnet, regardless of vaccination status.

Enjoy Holiday Traditions and Protect Your Loved Ones

Holiday traditions are important for families and children. There are several ways to enjoy these traditions and protect your health and the health of your loved ones.

From the Desk of Mrs. Brush

I will keep my message this week short and sweet since there are so many other things going on!

I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for continuing to be partners in your child's education here at Tracey. Parent-teacher conferences were very well attended even though we had to move them to virtual again this year. I know we were all looking forward to those important face-to-face meetings, but I am still hopeful those will happen once again! It is my sincere hope that you walked away from your conference with more knowledge about your child's day to day academic and social emotional progress here at Tracey. Please know that you can reach out to your child's teacher at any time if you want to discuss anything further, or just want to check in. We are here to support your child, but we are also here to support you as parents in the learning process. Remember - just 12% of your child's time is spent here at school, you are the most influential people in their lives!

I also want to thank Ms. Navarro's 4th grade Cubs for an AMAZING job at this week's Community Meetings...all three of them! This awesome group of Cubs presented at every Community Meeting this morning all about Integrity. They recorded skits that demonstrated the "dos and don'ts" of showing integrity, and each class left with the task of creating their own Integrity Pledge to be displayed around the school. Thank you 209 for really showing your PRINT today to ALL of our Tracey Cubs!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Notes from the Nurse

Dear Tracey Families,

I wanted to reach out in hope that we can all have clearer communication in the days to come. As you all know we have seen a rise in Covid cases in our State and in our district. We have also seen some increased contact exposure here in school. I can’t stress enough the importance of keeping children home if they are feeling sick, calling the school to report their absence, having them see their doctor to be evaluated and getting a note for their return to school. Your doctor will assess the need for a Covid test.

Regarding quarantine, please be aware that if you are having your child tested on day 5 to return on day 8, (with negative results and without symptoms) forward, take a screenshot or copy and send in with your child the results. If you email them to me please write your child's name in the subject line. If you choose not to test your child is required to stay home 10 days from their exposure. There are 2 free sites in Norwalk, with insurance and they are Veteran’s Park and St. Philip’s church (Progressive sight), behind the school, see links below.

We also have several students who have been vaccinated. After their second dose please send me a photo or copy of their vaccination card and I will update their chart. Please note that fifteen days after their 2nd vaccine they are considered “fully vaccinated” and won’t have to quarantine if exposed to a positive case here at school. Below I have attached local vaccination clinics, in fact there is one today, in case you are interested.

Lastly if you have changed your cell number, work number or email please let us know at school. We have had difficulty contacting parents when their student is exposed, or being sent home sick and should there ever be an emergency I don't want to have difficulty reaching you.
