Delta Family Center - Weekly Notes and News
Incredible Years Class Registration Is OPEN NOW!
Space is limited and all classes will be offered virtually! Please call and talk to Letty, Lupita or Bridget TODAY to sign up for our English or Spanish classes! Classes meet weekly and run for a total of 14 weeks and will conclude the week of December 14, 2020.
English Class - Weekly on Tuesdays at 6pm
Starting September 8, 2020
Spanish Class - Weekly on Thursdays at 6mm
Starting September 10, 2020
DCSD Elementary School Conferences
There will be NO School for ALL BELA Preschools and DCSD Elementary schools on September 28, 2020. Please call your child's elementary school for details on how they are hosting Parent/Teacher Conferences for your Elementary School student.
BELA Preschool will host conferences in November and April. Stay tuned for details as we get closer to that time.
DCSD & Colorado Department of Public Health & Safety Guidance
Please refer to the document above on guidance on when your child is ok to go to school. At-home screenings should be happening at home prior to coming to school. Your child's temperature will be checked prior to entry into any of our preschool locations. If your child presents a fever, you will be asked to take your child home. Thank you for your cooperation to keep our students, staff and community safe.
Kindergarten and Preschool Online/Virtual Registration Information
If you are a current BELA student, you should have received a letter to update your Powerschool details. BELA students who did not turn in your intent to return from last spring, please call our main office at 874-9517. NEW Students for 2020-2021 School Year:1. Please visit

2. Call Delta Family Center at 874-9517 to give us an email address for us to send you the registration packet.
3. PRESCHOOL ONLY must provide copies of the following for your packet to complete:
Birth Certificate
Immunization Record
Proof of Residency (Utility Bill, Bank Correspondence, etc)
Current Physical
Copy of current W2's/Last Year's filed taxes
4. Please submit packet and all documentation listed above via:
- Fax (970)874-5609
- Mail to DFC, 822 Grand Avenue, Delta, CO 81416
- Drop off in person at the same address above
5. Preschool parents will receive a phone interview from DFC/BELA administration once ALL paperwork is complete.

Kindergarten Eligibility: Must be 5 years old by September 1st of upcoming school year
Kindergarteners will be asked to submit the following information to their assigned school:
Preschool Eligibility: Must be 3 years old by September 1st of upcoming school year (2 1/2 for Delta Transition Class only.

Backpack Program Update
Greetings from the Backpack Program! We have missed seeing you all and hope you had a wonderful summer full of playing & reading.
We are excited to announce that our Backpack Factory will soon have a new home! We will still be housed here in Delta within the Delta Family Center, but will be relocating to the north end of the building, with an outside entrance next to A Kidz Clinic and diagonal from Cleland Park.
This move provides us a chance to better serve our families by having an exterior entrance for easy exchanges and a wonderful new space. However, this means that we will be postponing our first boxes going out for this school year. As remodeling and construction are completed and we are able to settle in, we will let you know when exchanges are set to resume.
We can't wait to start exchanging boxes again soon! Thank you for your patience and keep talking, reading and PLAYING everyday!

The Delta Family Center has been serving families since 1992 and is comprised of: The Backpack Program, The Backpack Early Learning Academy (BELA Preschool), and The Family Resource Center. The Backpack Program is FREE and open to all 3-5 year olds in Delta County. The BELA Preschool has locations in Delta, Hotchkiss, Paonia and Cedaredge, with a partner preschool in Crawford.
