The Students for Global Peacebuilding will be hosting its First Annual UCI Peace Week. Students, faculty, and community members will have the chance to be a part of presentations by distinguished keynote speakers, interactive workshop sessions, expert panel discussions, creative and fine arts performances, movie screenings and discussions, volunteer fair, and the rare opportunity to network with innovators and practitioners in the peacebuilding arena.

The Peace in Action Summit brings in the most inspiring and influential speakers and practitioners in the peacebuilding community, to bring awareness and skills that the UC Irvine and Orange Country population can use in their everyday lives.


Peace in Action Summit Itinerary

8:00am-9:00am: Registration (held throughout the day)

9:00am-10:00am: Introduction to PEACE

10:15am-11:15am: Keynote Speaker

11:30am-12:30pm: Workshops

12:35pm-1:45pm: Complimentary Lunch (provided by the Summit)

Students for Global Peacebuilding

Students for Global Peacebuilding (SGP) promotes citizen education and action about peacebuilding initiatives around the world. It engages communities on and off campus to enhance the role of citizen peacebuilding locally and globally. It conducts training workshops and organizes service learning opportunities where there is a need for peacebuilding. SGP is a student club that works in partnership with UCI’s Center for Citizen Peacebuilding, International Studies, the Office of Civic and Community Engagement, and Student Affairs. We invite all students to join us from every background and academic program.
