Our East Bobcats have Character!

We recently completed our annual Red Ribbon Week with a day dedicated to showing our character and saying "BOO" to drugs! Our East students spent the week showing their dedication to staying drug free by wearing red, dressing with crazy hair and socks, dressing as their favorite hero, and then their favorite book character.

October also brought our first CHAMPS reward of the year! We celebrated with our students that earned this achievement by hosting a picnic in the park or in the gym because of the weather. This was a fun day where we were able to spend time with our students and honor them for their good behavior.

Our Kindergarten and First Grade students received a treat when they watched a live-action Winnie the Pooh play put on by ArtsView Children's Theatre. This play also taught them about appropriate audience behavior and was precious to watch!

We ended the month with our 3rd Graders putting on our annual Halloween-themed program and we enjoyed their amazing performances!

Your children fill our halls with joy every day and we are so grateful that you choose East Elementary for their education. We hope to see as many of you as possible at our annual Color Run this Friday, November 4th!

CHAMPS Rewards for 2016-2017

This year our students will have a voice in the CHAMPS rewards for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Nine Weeks. Students in our 2nd and 3rd grade classes nominated an idea to the CHAMPS committee and from those ideas a ballot was created. The students were able to vote on those ideas and the top 3 will be named as the rewards for the rest of the year. All students in all grade levels were allowed to vote for their top 3 choices. The winners will be announced later this week so please stay tuned!
