Cooper Landing School Updates
Sarah Schuh (aka Snowshoe Sarah), Education Programs Manager from KMTA National Heritage Area, will be working with grades K-3 each Tuesday afternoon during the month of January. She teaches basic snow science and hydrology, and does fun projects like making snowshoes out of tree branches. The kids enjoy her activities and we are excited to have her back this year.
Dates to Remember
- Thursday, January 25, 5:00 - PAC Meeting followed by Title 1, Semester 2 Planning Meeting
- Friday, January 26 - Early Release - Students will be dismissed at 1:45
We are in need of a PAC president, secretary, and treasurer. It sometimes becomes difficult to conduct the business of the PAC without officers. Please consider volunteering.
Cooper Landing School is in need of substitutes for all positions: teacher, instructional aide, special education aide, secretary, and custodian. If you are interested, please go to the KPBSD website to apply: https://kpbsd.org/departments/assistant-superintendent/instructional-services/hr/substitute-information/
Teacher substitutes need only to have a high school diploma or GED. A teaching certificate is not required.
If anyone has any extra children's winter gloves, the school could use a few spares.
Please make sure your child has a warm jacket, hat, gloves, snow pants and boots. If it is convenient for you, and your child has extras, these things can be kept at the school. Please make sure to label each item with your child's name.
Community School Activities
Volleyball - Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Walking/Work-out - Will be starting back up this week or next. Watch the Crier for more info.

District Office has informed us that since there is no student contact for Community School activities, background checks are no longer needed unless you are issued a key to the school.
Parents who wish to accompany their child on field trips (whether or not you are driving a student other than your own), must complete a background check. To complete the process, please click here: https://kpbsd.org/departments/assistant-superintendent/instructional-services/hr/volunteer/
