An Agape Overview

Thank you for making 2022 a remarkable year to date for the Agape Clinic.
Before we move into Fall, let's take a moment to celebrate our Spring and Summer!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Agape welcomed the New Year while the Omicron Covid-19 variant raged. The Agape Clinic provided in-person and telehealth care to those most vulnerable in Dallas and the surrounding area without restriction. In January and February alone, Agape cared for over 2,125 patients!

On February 5, the Agape Clinic was named a 2022 Crystal Charity Ball beneficiary! (The Crystal Charity Ball receives MANY grant applications each year.) With this prestigious support from Crystal Charity Ball, Agape will initiate the expansion of comprehensive pediatric care at the Agape Clinic in East and South Dallas. The Agape Clinic is honored to be one of eight nonprofits selected! Below are photos from the Crystal Charity Ball bus tour!

In March, Agape welcomed Eduardo (Eddie) Alvarez, PA-C, as Interim Clinical Director. Previously, Eddie had served on the Agape medical team for four years as a provider overseeing patient care. Through Eddie's vision, Agape planned the reorganization of two internal pharmacies and refrigeration systems. On April 9, Agape implemented these plans during Highland Park United Methodist Church's Impact Serving Day! Later in April, Agape upgraded the clinic's information technology infrastructure with new phones and computers to improve patient/provider and lab communication.

Mission East Dallas (MED), an award-winning federally funded community health center, was onboarded as Agape's new dental partner in May. MED's compassionate dental team provides comprehensive family dental care on-site, regardless of a patient's ability to pay or insurance status. www.theagapeclinic.org/dental

Rebecca Hernandez, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, joined the Agape team in June, furthering access to women and family care available at Agape! She has worked as a staff nurse and nursing supervisor with Dallas ISD for the past eight years. Currently, Rebecca assists Dallas ISD and the Agape Clinic in creating a new collaborative partnership.

In July & August, the Agape Clinic began seeing dental patients four days a week and welcomed Joseph Maloney – MSN, MPH, FNP-BC to the Agape medical staff. https://www.theagapeclinic.org/about-us

Did you know?

Agape is the only 100% privately funded charity healthcare facility in Dallas that extends care to Dallas County and the surrounding area without restrictions or prerequisites! Through collaborative partnerships, patients receive most meds/labs for free.

The cost per visit is $75, while most patients donate $25 for services. Agape provides primary, limited women, and dental services while expanding programming to support holistic women’s, pediatric, and behavioral health programs.

For 39 years, the Agape Clinic has unconditionally provided quality health care services to underserved people.

Medical care without insurance is the most significant barrier to accessing healthcare.
Texas ranks last among the insured and is the least healthy state in the United States.
