Congratulations to Mrs. Roberta Loftus - Golden Apple Award Winner
Get to know her:
I am from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I have been married for almost nineteen years and I have three kids. Tatyana is sixteen, Caleb is thirteen and Alyssa is eleven. I love to cook and to scrapbook, although I do not have as much time to do either of those anymore. I graduated from Law School in 1999, and came to the United States in hopes of pursuing an International Law Masters. I was not planning on becoming a teacher, however I have truly found a passion in working with children. This is my fourth year teaching, and during these four years I have had the pleasure to teach 1st grade Dual Language immersion for Portuguese. One of the best aspects of my job is to see the first graders being introduced to and quickly learning a new language. Their amazing growth in a one-year period trumps challenges and difficulties that come our way. I love what I do and I am grateful that I get to do it with the amazing teachers from Lakeview.

Safe Utah App
Dear Parents,
Many of you may have heard about the SafeUT App that has been highlighted in the news and is currently being used in our secondary schools. This free app will now be available to students and their families at Lakeview and has two main functions:
1) Get help 24/7 during a crisis (call/text)
2) Report safety concerns to your school (violence, drugs, bullying, etc.)
- Personnel at the school are notified of the concern via email to investigate the issue.
During the next couple weeks all 4th, 5th and 6th grade students at Lakeview will be given a presentation on how to use the SafeUT App.
Attached is a short video explaining how it works and a link to a website with more information.

We hope this will provide another means for students to get help and a safe, anonymous way to report concerns at the school. If you have any questions please contact our social worker, Chris Miller, at the school or by email at chrism@provo.edu.
Thank you!
