Important Information Regarding Valentine's Day Gifts
If you want to have a valentine treat sent to your child on Valentine's Day, please consider participating in the CHS Project Graduation Valentines Fundraiser. These treats will be delivered to your child's classroom by volunteers prior to Valentine's Day. Order forms are available in the office, or valentine treats can be purchased online at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeBw78moRQ9TEXYYoSCgt3E09C3oDaheuRexf64-WhSRXPh7Q/viewform
WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING OUTSIDE DELIVERIES OF GIFTS FOR STUDENTS ON VALENTINE'S DAY SUCH AS FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS, BALLOONS, STUFFED ANIMALS, BOXED CANDY, BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND GIFTS, ETC. With our enrollment at almost 700 students, it is not feasible for the office staff to distribute these types of items.
CISD School Holiday - Monday, February 21st
We hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday weekend!
CLOTHES NEEDED FOR NURSE BAKER'S CLINIC
Spills and accidents sometimes occur at school, especially with our younger students. Nurse Baker keeps extra clothing in her office for students when these incidents occur, but her supplies are running low. Currently the clinic needs sweatpants with elastic waists in youth sizes for girls and boys.
Donated items must be new and unused and can be brought to the front office. Also, if your child has borrowed items from the clinic, please return the used items (cleaned!) to Nurse Baker.
The Counselor's Corner
This month we’re talking about the beautiful character trait of Kindness. The dictionary defines it as: “the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.” But it is so much more than that! The definition we are using in class is:
Kindness: the choice to act with words, gifts, or actions to bring appreciation, positivity, and encouragement to others and yourself.
The key part of this definition? Kindness is a choice that we get to make every day to bring good things into our lives and the world. Those good things can look like more than just some kind words; Kindness is given through our actions and our encouragement and our attitude and our gifts. We will spend time thinking about how to be kind to ourselves, to our environment, to animals, and to one another. We will get to experience meaningful words through compliments and feel the joy that comes from showing appreciation to others. We will think about how people like Jackie Chan and Booker T. Washington and Maya Angelou teach us Kindness. It will be a powerful and positive time!
